Powerful Engine and Performance

The new Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.4 hp and 13.3 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The company states that the hybrid system primarily improves the bike’s mileage without affecting performance. The bike weighs approximately 2 kg more than the standard version, at 141 kg, due to the battery and hybrid module.

Equipped with Technology and Smart Features

Yamaha has equipped this bike with several smart features, making it the most advanced in its segment. The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid features a silent start system and an auto start/stop feature (ISG), which helps save fuel in traffic. Additionally, it features a 4.2-inch color TFT digital display, updated switchgear, Bluetooth connectivity, and call/message alerts. The new matte Titan Green color scheme and golden wheels give the bike a sporty and premium look.

Price and Variants

The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is priced between ₹1.49 lakh and ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This price is approximately ₹20,000 more than the standard FZ-X, while it is approximately ₹5,000 more than the FZ-S Hybrid. The company stated that this price is excellent considering the bike’s advanced hybrid system, improved fuel efficiency, and new technology. However, prices have decreased since the implementation of GST 2.0.

Design and Riding Experience

The new Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid will appeal to young people due to its combination of retro-roadster looks and modern features. The bike’s riding position is quite comfortable, making it a great choice for both everyday use and long rides. Yamaha stated that with hybrid technology, the bike now delivers smoother and more efficient performance than before.
