Upcoming Hyundai SUVs 2026–2027 – The Indian SUV market is currently undergoing a major change, and Hyundai is understanding it well. Hyundai has now adopted a new strategy to reverse the decline in market share in the past. The company is set to launch at least 4 new SUVs by March 2027. They will have three brand new models and will see a larger facelift of an existing SUV. From micro SUVs to mid-size and electric segments, Hyundai wants to strengthen its grip on every front.
Hyundai Exter Facelift
Hyundai Exter, Hyundai’s most affordable SUV, is now ready for a mid-life facelift. It is expected to launch by March 2026. Talking about design, Exter will retain its boxy and upright style, but will see a change in plastic body panels. There will be no major change in sheet metal, so that its identity remains.

The front will get a new grille and revisited bumpers, while the rear can be given a new bumper with light changes. Also some new color options are likely to be added. There will be more major changes inside the cabin. The larger touchscreen infotainment system, updated digital driver display and new connected car features will make it more tech-savvy than before.
Exter facelift on safety front will not compromise. It will have 6 airbags, ESC and other essential safety features standard. The engine option will continue with the 1.2L petrol and CNG variants. This will be directly related to Tata Punch, which has been updated recently.
Hyundai Compact Electric SUV
Hyundai has now prepared to unload electric weapons in the micro SUV segment. A completely new compact electric SUV of the company has been seen during testing on Indian roads. The model will be based on the Inster EV present in the global market and will be less than 4 meters in length.

The design of this new electric SUV will be boxy and upright, with flat roof, short overhangs and a straight tailgate. It is likely to be manufactured at the Talegaon plant in Maharashtra. Talking about size, its length can be around 3.8 meters and wheelbase can be around 2580mm.
Two packs of 42kWh and 49kWh are expected to be found in the battery option, which will come with a front-axle mounted electric motor. It is being claimed that this electric SUV can give a range of up to 500km once charged. After launch, it will be directly against Tata Punch EV.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta
Hyundai’s most popular SUV Hyundai Creta is now coming in the new generation avatar. Its testing has started in South Korea and the launch timeline is considered Late 2026 or Early 2027. The new Creta will be slightly larger in size and will see a hybrid powertrain for the first time.

This SUV will be based on the K3 platform. The new platform is expected to provide more space, better comfort and premium materials in the cabin. In terms of design, the new Creta will adopt more boxy and SUV-like stance.
The hybrid version may use a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. In addition, 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options will also continue. A choice of manual and automatic gearboxes will be available with all engines. This SUV in the market will compete with vehicles like Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara and the upcoming Tata Sierra.

Hyundai Bayon
Hyundai’s fourth major offering will be the new Hyundai Bayon. It is being tested in South Korea and Europe and there is every possibility of its launch in India as well. This model will directly target Maruti Fronx and descend into the sub-4 meter segment.

Bayon codename for India is known as BC4i CUB. Its cabin will be largely inspired by the new Venue, which will feature a twin-screen setup with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 12.3-inch digital driver display.

The engine option is expected to receive 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol. In addition Hyundai is also working on a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which will be hybrid-ready in the future.
