Design
The design of the 2026 FJ Cruiser is inspired by Toyota’s Compact Cruiser EV Concept. It has a muscular and rugged body structure, giving it a real off-roader look.
Two different facia are seen in the front, round headlights in one, while rectangular headlights in the other, which provide different styling according to the trim.
Engine
Now let’s talk about its heart i.e. the engine. The 2026 Toyota FJ Cruiser features a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, which generates around 161 bhp of power and 245 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and 4×4 transfer case, giving it the full power to run on any kind of off-road terrain.
Toyota has designed this engine with particularly torque-focused tuning so that this SUV can deliver smooth performance in both low-speed crawling and highway cruising. That is, from the city streets to the mountain paths, this SUV is ready to show its fire everywhere.
Dimension and Platform
Although the new Toyota FJ Cruiser is built on a platform with Land Cruiser 250, its wheelbase is kept 270 mm shorter. The length of the SUV is 4,575 mm, width 1,855 mm and height 1,960 mm.
Its ground clearance is 215.3 mm, while the approach angle is given up to 31 degrees, making it a tremendous off-road SUV. At the same time its turning radius is just 5.5 meters, making it easier to drive in city drive as well.
Interior
This SUV from the inside is as luxurious as the outside. The interior of the 2026 Toyota FJ Cruiser features a functional and layered dashboard design, a 12.5-inch free-standing infotainment screen, and physical buttons for dual-zone climate control. Audio and cruise control buttons are provided on the steering, as well as a full digital TFT instrument cluster.

Launch
Toyota FJ Cruiser will first be launched in Japan by mid-2026. After this SUV will also be introduced in Asia and European markets.
Also the company plans to promote it as Global “Baby Land Cruiser”, so that the Land Cruiser brand can be delivered to more people.
