New Tata Tiago EV Launch: To maintain its dominance in the Indian electric car market, Tata Motors is preparing to launch a new and updated facelift model of its most popular electric hatchback, the Tata Tiago EV. According to reports, the new Tiago EV has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage. This update will not only make the car look more premium and modern, but it is also likely to feature 6-in-1 electric drive technology, which will take its performance and range to new heights. Major Design Changes The company is going to make several revolutionary changes to the exterior design of the new Tata Tiago EV 2026. The biggest change will be seen in its front fascia, where the LED DRLs will now be seen in the 'eyebrow' style above the headlights, moving away from the bumper. The headlights have been made slimmer and sharper than before, giving the car an aggressive and modern look. The grille will have a completely blanked-off design, similar to that seen in new-generation electric cars. The company aims to position it as a style statement among young people, offering a sense of luxury even in the budget segment. Side and Rear Profile The side profile of the car will feature newly designed aero-style alloy wheels, specifically designed to reduce air drag, thereby increasing the car's range. The most striking updates to the rear profile will be its connected taillights and a new rear bumper. This connected light bar will give the car a wider and sportier appearance at night. Additionally, test models have been spotted with a raised roof, suggesting that the Tiago EV may also feature a segment-first feature like an electric sunroof. New Battery Technology and 6-in-1 Drive On the mechanical front, Tata Motors may use its new 6-in-1 electric drive technology. This system is lighter and more efficient, reducing power consumption. Currently, the Tiago EV comes with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs, but there is talk that the facelifted model could feature a larger battery with prismatic cells, ensuring improved range, similar to the Punch EV. This means the new Tiago EV will be able to travel 300 to 325 kilometers on a single full charge, making inter-city journeys hassle-free. High-Tech Cabin Tata has also put considerable effort into the cabin. The new Tiago EV is expected to feature a large 10.25-inch floating touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. It could also feature a 360-degree surround-view camera to make parking easier in city traffic. Six airbags could also be standard for safety. Features like wireless charging, automatic climate control, and a cooled glovebox will make it one of the most feature-loaded hatchbacks in its class.
