Suzuki XBEE 2025 Will Come With a New Style and a Powerful Engine, See All Detail

At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Suzuki unveiled its new XBEE (Crossbee) compact crossover, capturing the attention of auto enthusiasts. This facelifted model is an updated version of the XBEE introduced in 2017. Notably, this car features the same Z12E petrol engine that powers the new Maruti Swift sold in India. With a compact design, more premium styling, and improved technology, this model represents a significant update to Suzuki’s small-SUV lineup.

Modern and Robust Exterior Design

The XBEE’s exterior design features a distinctive boxy silhouette, giving it a mini SUV identity. Its appearance is reminiscent of the Maruti S-Presso sold in India, although the XBEE is approximately 200 mm longer, giving it a more sporty and practical shape. Along with its standard stance, it now features rounded headlamps, a new grille with silver detailing, and a more robust lower cladding. The dual-tone paint scheme and eye-catching alloy wheels make the car appear more premium and modern.

Refreshing and Practical Interior Design

Suzuki has also thoroughly redesigned the XBEE’s cabin. It features a new multi-function steering wheel, similar in design to the Maruti Victory that’s already available in India. A new digital instrument cluster and floating-type center console give it a more high-tech feel. The Jimny-like tall infotainment screen layout adds an adventurous touch. Despite its compact size, the car features smart storage spaces and a modular seating layout that balances family use and urban comfort.

Powerful and Economical Powertrain

The new XBEE is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Z12E mild-hybrid petrol engine. This engine comes with a CVT automatic transmission and offers a front-wheel drive setup. Previously, the XBEE was powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, but now the company has focused more on efficiency and smooth driving. This is the same engine that powers the India-spec Maruti Swift, meaning it delivers reliable, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly performance.

Possibility of India Launch and Competition

Currently, Suzuki has confirmed that the XBEE will be available only for the Japanese market, and there are no plans for an Indian launch. If it were to arrive in India, it could challenge cars like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Xter in the 3.76-meter crossover segment. With the rapidly growing micro-SUV segment in the country, the XBEE could have been a great option for Indian customers, but for now, it will remain limited to Japan.
