Tata Harrier Petrol

Let me tell you that at the moment Tata Harrier meets two powertrain options – Diesel and EV. But petrol engine variants have been under discussion for a long time. Tata officials had already confirmed that both Harrier and Safari would be offered with petrol engines in the coming times.

According to recent reports, the company may launch both of these SUVs in November 2025. However, no official statement has yet come from Tata Motors, but the market for discussions is hot. These launches are believed to be part of Tata’s upcoming SUVs lineup – such as Punch Facelift, Sierra ICE and Sierra EV

Power

In the present day, the Harrier offers a 2.0-liter diesel engine that gives 168bhp power and 350Nm torque. At the same time, its EV version is even more powerful, with 309bhp power and 504Nm torque – with dual motor setup.

Now talk about the upcoming petrol variant, it will give Tata a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder TGDi Petrol Engine, which will generate 170bhp power and 280Nm of torque. This is the same engine the company showcased for the first time at Auto Expo 2023. Both the Manual and DCA (Dual Clutch Automatic) gearbox options are expected to be found with this.

Price

In fact, the Harrier Diesel is currently priced between ₹16.72 lakh and ₹30.13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, once the petrol engine variant is launched, its starting price could be around ₹15.70 lakh to ₹16 lakh.

This means that the new Harrier petrol version will be cheaper than the current diesel model by approximately ₹70,000 to ₹1 lakh. This will prove to be a great option for those who want a large Tata SUV but don’t want to spend too much.
