Mahindra XUV 5XO
Mahindra has strong options like Thar Roxx, but not every buyer likes off-road stance, big size and heavy presence. Many people want SUVs that are city traffic-friendly, smooth moving and making everyday needs easier. Thar Roxx is comfortable, but its huge size does not suit everyone.
Mahindra’s lineup therefore lacks an SUV that sits atop XUV 3XO and challenges models such as Creta. XUV 5XO can fit in this segment with feature-loaded, practical and perfect urban SUV vibe. The best thing is that Mahindra will not even have to invest much in developing it, because its base is already ready.

NU_IQ Platform
Mahindra introduced its next-generation NU_IQ platform on 15 August 2025. It is a flexible platform designed for both ICE and EV powertrains. Its specialty is that SUVs of length from 3,990 mm to 4,320 mm can be made on it.
The Vision X concept, which is based on this platform, is believed to be the first glimpse of the XUV 5XO. Concept is sub-4 metre, but the capability of the NU_IQ platform shows that Mahindra can easily create a 4.3 metre length SUV.
Design
If XUV 5XO Vision X brings DNA, its design will be completely different from the old XUV500 and far more sporty. New SUV can be seen in elevated and muscular bonnet, 18-inch alloy wheels, sharp and bold body lines, flush door handles and stringing rear profile with futuristic lighting.

Talking about Interior, it can be given connected curved screens like Vision X, rectangular AC vents, 3-spoke steering wheel and large center console. Cabin space will be quite open and practical because of the NU_IQ platform.

Engines
Mahindra is known for its powerful engines. The same DNA XUV 5XO can also look clean. It is expected to have powerful engines of XUV 3XO. It will get 1.2-litre TGDi petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both of these are already considered the most powerful in this Segment. But here the twist is the XUV 5XO will be larger and more capable SUV, so Mahindra can bring these engines to higher tune.
