MG (Morris Garages) has unveiled its new MG4 EV hatchback in China! This new model is much more updated than its previous version and will be the company’s first global model for 2025. With a new design and larger size, the MG4 EV is set to emerge as a powerful contender in the electric hatchback segment! Its sporty look and modern features will attract electric vehicle enthusiasts.
Awesome Exterior
The front of the new MG4 EV has a sloping bonnet, LED headlights, and a new air intake design. The front bumper is also new and has vertical slats on both sides. The sculpted front fenders give the MG4 a very sporty stance. It will have the option of 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels. The charging port is located in the left front fender of the car.
Contrary to the trend of today, it has conventional door handles instead of flush-type door handles, which give it a different identity. At the rear, there are new Cyberster-inspired tail lamps that are connected to a light bar, as well as a roof spoiler and a new bumper, which make it look even more powerful.

Bigger and spacious
The new MG4 EV is larger than its older model, which provides more space inside. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,395 mm long, 1,842 mm wide, and 1,551 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. This makes it 108 mm longer, 6 mm wider and 35 mm higher than the first-gen, while the wheelbase has increased by 45 mm, giving passengers more comfort inside.
Powerful performance
The new MG4 EV will be powered by a single electric motor with 161 BHP power, which will be capable of taking it to a top speed of 160 kph. In comparison, the old model used to get 168 BHP power. However, MG earlier also had a 4WD XPower variant in which two electric motors together generated 422 bhp of power, but in this new model, only a single motor option is currently available.
Powerful launch expected
The new MG4 EV is expected to be launched in China in April 2025, possibly at the Shanghai Auto Show. After this, it will also knock in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025 (Q4 2025). There is no official information about its launch in the Indian market yet, but being a global model, it can be expected that MG can introduce it in India as well, which will make the electric hatchback segment even more powerful.
