India’s number-1 best-selling hatchback car, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, is now cheaper than ever. After the recent GST reforms, Maruti Suzuki has made a big price cut on all variants of the WagonR. This announcement will give customers direct savings of up to ₹ 64, 000, which has come into effect from September 7, 2025.
How much discount on which variant of WagonR
Under the new GST rules of the government, the tax on small cars has been reduced from 28% to 18%. Maruti WagonR is the biggest beneficiary of this change. The discounts on different variants of WagonR include a ₹50, 000 discount on WagonR LXI 1L ISS MT, a ₹54, 000 discount on WagonR VXI 1L ISS MT, and a ₹58, 000 discount on WagonR VXI 1L ISS AT.
On the other hand, a ₹57, 000 discount is being given on Tour H3 CNG 1L MT, and a ₹58, 000 discount is being given on WagonR LXI CNG 1L MT. The highest discount is being given on WagonR ZXI+ 1.2L ISS AT, which is ₹64, 000.
WagonR’s new price and features
After the GST cut, the starting ex-showroom price of WagonR now starts from ₹ 5.78 lakh and goes up to ₹ 7.62 lakh for the top model. Many great features have also been given in this car, which make it a great option in its category. It includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 4-speaker music system, and steering-mounted audio and phone controls. Apart from this, features like dual front airbags and rear parking sensors are also present for safety.
Powerful engine and unmatched mileage
If we talk about the engine of Maruti Suzuki WagonR, then it is available in two great engine options. First, a 1.0-litre petrol engine which generates 67bhp of power and 89Nm of torque. At the same time, the second option is a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which gives 90bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque.
For customers who are concerned about mileage, WagonR also has a CNG option available, which claims to give a mileage of more than 34 kilometers. WagonR’s low maintenance cost and excellent mileage make it an ideal car for Indian families.
