Maruti Suzuki e-Swift vs Tata Tiago EV – The way things are going, EVs will be a major part of urban commuting by today. The expected e-Swift from Maruti Suzuki by 2025 will be put to the test against the Tata Tiago EV, the flagship product of the Indian EV market. Both cars are equally eco-friendly and can be easy on the pocket. It will be ”Which is better practically and efficiently, as well as compactly?” in this battle between EVs.
Battle of Performance and Range
Tiago has 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery pack configurations as per ARAI-certified ranges of about 250 km to 315 km, respectively. Good enough for city running. E-Swift is expected to come with a battery pack of 25-30 kWh with a practical range of above 300 km. Also, from 0 to 60 km, one can do this in 7.6 seconds, thus making it quick in city traffic. The performance of the e-Swift is likely to be similar.

To begin with, the Tata Tiago EV- besides being a demo for the modern technology in EVs-has a 4-star G-NCAP safety rating, thus qualifying it to have much more safety than the previous 2 stars safety rating that the Swift petrol model had. E-Swift is longer at 3860 mm than the Tiago EV at 3769 mm, and hence can offer slightly better cabin and boot space (265 L for the Swift vs. 240 L for the Tiago EV). Both car models are expected to come equipped with necessary features such as touchscreen infotainment systems, automatic climate control systems, and connected car technology.

It is a proven package, namely the Tata Tiago EV, the most practical small EV available today on the grounds of already established safety ratings, competitive costing, and choice between two battery configurations. However, if Maruti Suzuki e-Swift can be proved in the real world to have better range than the Tiago EV, then an excellent rating of over 4 stars in safety may give it an attractive introductory price that can set a greater benchmark in the segment. For now, based on knowledge, the Tiago EV is a safe and trustworthy partner for urban roads.
