KTM has always been a trusted name for adventure biking enthusiasts. But after the recent significant price hike on the 390 ADV, all eyes are now firmly on the ADV 250. Interestingly, it lags behind its rival, the TVS RTX 300, in terms of features, and KTM will have to rethink this model to stay in the market. Could the company introduce features like Cruise Control on the 250 ADV? Let’s understand the full story.

Price

Talking about price, the increased prices have made 390 ADV now a premium product. The on-road price of KTM 390 ADV S has reached close to ₹5 lakh in Mumbai after the impact of GST 2.0. In such a situation, 250 ADV is now becoming more value-for-money option for many riders.

But, it is also true that it needs immediate improvement in terms of features and performance. Riders today do not just need a powerful engine, but also modern features that help in long journeys and improve the ride technically.

Rival

The biggest challenge of the KTM 250 ADV is the TVS RTX 300 at the moment. This bike offers such a list of features that any rider can feel. Includes RTX Cruise Control, Adjustable Suspension and Dedicated Navigation Screen.

All these features are missing in 250 ADV. The power output of the RTX 300 from above is also higher than the KTM. Both sit almost equal in price, making the RTX 300 a more attractive package. This is the reason why the update of 250 ADV has now become a compulsion for KTM to remain in the market, not just an option.

KTM 250 ADV Update

There have been reports for a long time that KTM is preparing a new 350cc ADV model. But it will take time for him to come. And until the new model arrives, the company will have to hold expectations at 250 ADV.

If KTM also adds just a major feature like Cruise Control to this bike, it can stand directly in front of the RTX 300 and the rest of the ADVs. Cruise Control is considered a big plus-point in today’s adventure segment, and in long rides this feature is quite useful.
