Tata Sierra, which is scheduled to arrive in the new avatar, can be introduced in petrol, diesel and electric variants. If the EV version arrives, it will give a completely different experience, quiet, smooth and environmentally friendly.

Talking about performance, Carens offers more practical and family-oriented drives. The Sierra, especially if the turbo comes in petrol or EV versions, can be more powerful and adventure-friendly.

Interior and space

Kia Carens’ biggest strength is its 7-seater layout. The seating in all three rows makes it ideal for a large family. Rear AC vents, large boot space (on third row fold) and comfortable seats make it suitable for long journeys.

The interior of the Tata Sierra can be more premium and futuristic. Large touchscreens, digital instrument clusters, panoramic sunroofs and advanced features are expected. But it is more likely to be a 5-seater SUV.

If you need space for more people, Carens is clearly ahead. But if more luxury is needed in fewer seats, Sierra is the attractive option.

Safety and technology

Kia Carens gets 6 airbags, ABS, ESC and many safety features if it comes to safety. It is designed keeping in mind family safety.

Tata Sierra may see advanced safety features and possibly ADAS technology. Tata’s cars are generally known for strong build quality, and Sierra can also carry on the same tradition.

The price of Kia Carens starts at around Rs 10 lakh and goes up to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers a 7-seater facility by price, making it value for money.

Tata Sierra costs between Rs 12 and 20 lakhs, according to variants and powertrains. If the EV version arrives, the price may go up even further.
