The Honda Activa is the country’s best-selling scooter. Driven by ever-growing demand, the Activa has surpassed 35 million units sold in India. The Activa achieved this milestone in 24 years. Since its launch in 2001, the Activa has reigned supreme on Indian roads. Let’s explore its price and features.

Why is it so successful

There are several factors behind the Activa’s success. First, it’s fuel efficiency and low maintenance. Honda Two-Wheeler’s robust dealer network has simplified sales and service. Recently, Honda also introduced its electric variant, the Honda Activa e, which is available in states like Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

Design Details

The standard variant (STD) features a halogen headlamp, while the DLX and H-Smart trims feature a full LED lighting system, providing improved visibility and energy savings. The scooter’s body color options include attractive shades like Diamond White, Pearl Eagle Brown, and Metallic Magnetic Gray. Ground clearance is 162 mm, making it suitable for rough Indian road conditions.

The seat length is 692 mm, making it comfortable for long rides. Alloy wheels are now standard on the DLX variant, replacing steel wheels, giving it a more premium feel. The suspension system features telescopic forks at the front and 3-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride.

Features

It features a 4.2-inch TFT digital instrument console that displays a speedometer, tachometer, real-time fuel mileage, clock, fuel gauge, and Eco Riding indicator. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity, which connects to the Honda RoadSync app for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, music streaming, weather updates, and voice commands.

The 5-way joystick on the handlebar makes menu navigation easy. The Idling Stop system automatically shuts off the engine during long stops, saving fuel. The USB Type-C port is for fast charging. Other features include single-channel ABS (in some variants), side-stand engine cut-off, X-Protect technology (for securing underseat storage), and a shutter lock.

Engine and Performance

The standard Activa 110 is powered by a 109.51 cc air-cooled, 4-stroke SI engine that produces 7.88 bhp and 9.05 Nm of torque. It is OBD-2B compliant, meeting stringent emission norms. Mileage is around 50-52 km/l, and it has a top speed of 85 km/h.
