Engine and Performance
Comparing performance, there are slight differences in the engines of both bikes, which affect top speed and power output. The Hero Splendor Plus is powered by a 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.9 bhp and 8.05 Nm of torque. It can reach a top speed of 87 km/h.
The Honda Shine 100, on the other hand, has a 98.98cc, 4-stroke SI engine that produces 10.6 bhp and 8.05 Nm of torque. This allows the Shine 100 to reach a top speed of 102 km/h. Clearly, if you’re looking for more power and speed, the Honda Shine 100 is far ahead.
Mileage and Features
The Hero Splendor Plus excels in terms of mileage. The company claims a range of approximately 70 kilometers per liter of petrol, which is excellent in this segment. It also gets modern technology like i3S (idle start-stop) system, tubeless tyres, and xSENS Fi fuel injection.
In contrast, the Honda Shine 100 mileage is around 55-60 kmpl, which is less than the Splendor Plus. However, the Shine 100 comes with its refreshed and modern design, which features a digital LCD and better graphics, giving it a premium look.
