SUVs Coming in 2026: The SUV market is set to be more exciting than ever in 2026, as two major Japanese brands Honda and Nissan are set to launch their entire lineup of new SUVs in India. Both companies have officially confirmed their plans, and now the excitement is building as to what fresh models the new year will bring.

Honda Sub-4M SUV
Honda is going to step into India’s hottest sub-4m SUV segment for the first time. This new SUV will take a direct bump from models such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza and Kia Sonet. Talking about design, the company is giving it a boxy profile, so that it does not look like Amaze or a big version but creates a distinct identity.

Honda plans to provide more features than Amaze in this SUV. It is expected to include features such as a large touchscreen, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, sunroof and digital instrument cluster. As an engine option, only Honda’s reliable 1.2-liter NA petrol engine will be available, which can be tune to give a little more performance. In addition, factory-fitted CNG options may also be added later.
Nissan Tekton
Nissan’s biggest surprise of 2026 is their new SUV Nissan Tekton. This SUV is getting ready to challenge popular models such as Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. The design has already surfaced and it seems clear to see that Tekton looks like a small Patrol, strong, wide and full of SUV DNA.

The interior is currently kept secret, but it is anticipated that it will adopt features from Duster. These may include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, wireless connectivity, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ADAS and ventilated seats.
The engine option is expected to offer options such as 1.3-liter turbo petrol, 1.0-liter turbo petrol and 1.5-liter NA petrol, which will provide a good range in performance and efficiency.
Honda 0 Alpha Suv
Honda’s second major entry is the 0 Alpha SUV, which the company is preparing to bring to India in the second half of 2026. This model will be placed above Honda Elevate in both design and features. Therefore its size will be larger and its look will be more premium.

Talking about features, Honda 0 Alpha SUV will get everything that is expected from a modern electric SUV. It will include everything from triple-screen layout, Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, high-resolution digital display and ventilated seats.

Its battery pack options will range from 55kWh to 75kWh, and larger batteries can offer a range of 450+ km in real life. It will directly challenge SUVs such as Mahindra BE6, Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
