Transmission System

Yamaha has taken an innovative step by introducing a new transmission system in the Nmax called the Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (YECVT). This enables two riding modes – Sport and Town. Sport mode offers faster acceleration by holding each gear longer and allowing the engine to rev higher in each cog. Town mode, on the other hand, is for short-shifting and relaxed riding. It also has a ‘Shift’ button, which can be used to automatically downshift a gear for swift acceleration, just like you would on a motorcycle. This technology is like a smart assistant – offering the perfect settings for every situation.

Features and Technology

Although the Nmax 155 is based on the same platform as the Aerox 155, it is more advanced in terms of features. The instrumentation setup includes a 4.2-inch TFT screen with a Garmin navigation system and the ability to receive SMS alerts, accept/reject calls, and control music. Alongside this screen is a smaller LCD that displays basic information such as speed and fuel level. These features are like a mini command center – from where you can control everything.

Engine and Performance

The Nmax 155 will continue to be powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.8bhp of power and 14Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine found in the Aerox 155. With the new YECVT system, this engine will deliver even better performance, especially in Sport mode where the engine will have more freedom to rev. This performance is like that of a seasoned athlete – giving its best in every mode.
