The Income Tax Department has provided two official platforms for PAN updates: NSDL (now Protean eGov) and UTIITSL. Through these two portals, you can make corrections online from the comfort of your home or submit an offline application. The process of changing PAN-related information has now become completely digital. By following a few simple steps, you can correct the incorrect details entered on your card.

After filling in the information, a 15-digit token number will be generated. Now, select the detail you want to change and enter the correct information. Additionally, please upload your identity proof, address proof, date of birth document, photograph, and signature.

After this, pay the online fee and submit the form. After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment slip, which you can use to track the status of your application later.

How to Update PAN Offline

Those who do not wish to use the online process can also update their PAN offline. For this, you have to fill out a form called “Request for New PAN Card or/and/or Changes or Correction in PAN Data”. This form must be submitted at the nearest PAN center, along with the necessary documents. Identity proof, address proof, date of birth proof, and the old PAN card are required. After submitting the fee, an acknowledgment slip is provided, which can be used to check the updated status. PAN Update Fees

If you only want an e-PAN (in PDF format), the fee is approximately ₹101 (including GST) for residents of India and approximately ₹1018 for those residing abroad.

For a physical PAN card, the fee is approximately ₹110 for residents of India and approximately ₹1020 for those residing abroad. The fee may vary slightly if changes are made to the photo, signature, or other information.
