Weather Warning: Large parts of the country are currently experiencing severe cold and cold wave conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for very dense fog in 4 states, and a yellow warning for dense fog in 17 states. According to the latest report from the Meteorological Department, thick fog is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. Dense fog is also expected in several other states, including Assam and Meghalaya; Bihar; Chhattisgarh; Himachal Pradesh; Jharkhand; Nagaland; Manipur; Mizoram and Tripura; Odisha; Rajasthan; Uttarakhand; West Bengal; and Sikkim.
According to the IMD, a cold wave warning has been issued for Chhattisgarh from January 6 to 8 and for Jharkhand from January 6 to 7. Freezing conditions are also expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on January 7. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some parts of Tamil Nadu on January 8 and 9. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for some areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala on January 9 and 10.

Several parts of Jharkhand are experiencing cold wave conditions, causing difficulties for the people. The Meteorological Department has predicted that cold wave conditions may persist across parts of the state on January 6.
Weather in Rajasthan
Most parts of Rajasthan are experiencing severe cold. According to the Meteorological Department, further temperature drops and dense fog are expected in the coming days. Cold winds may also affect western Rajasthan from January 8 to 10 and eastern Rajasthan from January 6 to 10.

Rain Warning in Kashmir
According to the IMD, light rain or snowfall is possible in some areas of the higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir on January 6. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and snowfall are expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on January 6th. Similar weather conditions are also likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on the same day. ​​Additionally, frost is expected in some areas of Uttarakhand on January 6th.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in several states on January 6th. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand may experience thunderstorms and rain. Precipitation intensity is expected to be higher in the higher mountainous regions. A rain warning has been issued for the higher reaches of Doda, Budgam, and Shopian in Kashmir. Rain is also expected in Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, and Manali in Himachal Pradesh. Several parts of Uttarakhand are likely to experience frost.
In South India, many parts of Tamil Nadu may receive rainfall. Light rain is expected in some areas of Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Puducherry may experience drizzle.
