PAN Card New Update: The last date for linking PAN and Aadhaar was December 31, 2025.  This means that those whose PAN cards are not linked to their Aadhaar will face significant problems. The government has made it clear that the PAN cards of those who have not linked their PAN to Aadhaar will be deactivated. This could halt several essential services. Many difficulties will arise after the PAN card is deactivated.

Why is PAN-Aadhaar Linking Important?

According to the Income Tax Department, after December 31, 2025, if the PAN and Aadhaar cards are not linked, the PAN card cannot be used for several important tasks. This includes filing income tax returns, opening a new bank account, completing the KYC process, and conducting large financial transactions.  Therefore, if the PAN card is deactivated, many everyday tasks could be affected.
