By hitting two sixes in this match, he surpassed Ponting. With his fifty, he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s world record of scoring the most 50+ scores at home. Sachin had done this 58 times, a record Kohli has now surpassed. Kohli scored 50+ for the 59th time in a home ODI.
He scored a hundred 50+ scores while playing at home. He became the fourth batsman in history to achieve this unique century. The record for scoring the most 50+ scores while playing at home is held by Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved this a total of 112 times in all formats. Ricky Ponting is at second place.
