December 2025 of the SUV segment is going to be very exciting. For auto lovers, this month will become special because two big and much awaited SUVs Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and New-Gen Kia Seltos are going to make their entry into the Indian market.
On one hand, Maruti will present its first global electric model, so Kia is preparing to bring a completely new generation of its famous Seltos. Technology, range, features and design are going to give both SUVs a tough competition to each other in every respect. Let’s know about these two launches in detail.

MARUTI SUZUKI E VITARA
Maruti Suzuki will launch its first global electric SUV, the e Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025. This SUV is built on the all-new e HEARTECT Platform, which is specifically designed for electric vehicles.
Suzuki has already started production of this model at its plant in Gujarat, which shows how serious the company is about the electric market.

Battery and Range
The e Vitara coming to India will be offered in two battery options — 48.9 kWh and 61.1 kWh— and both variants will be powered by a front-axle electric motor. Its high-spec model will once give a certified range of about 500 km at full charge, making it one of the segment’s most powerful electric SUVs. The SUV will also have fast charging support, where a large 61.1 kWh battery can charge 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes.
Features
Talking about features, e Vitara includes a 10.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital display, fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats, and a 10-way power adjustable driver seat, making it a fairly premium feel.
At the level of security, e Vitara comes with features such as 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, TPMS, blind spot monitoring and Level 2 ADAS. SUVs are expected to be launched between ₹18 lakhs to ₹25 lakhs in terms of price.
NEW-GEN KIA SELTOS
On 10 December 2025, the company will introduce its second generation Kia Seltos together in India and South Korea. However, its sales in India will start from January 2026. Several spy shots of the new Seltos have surfaced, suggesting that the SUV is going to have a much larger design update.
Its boxy and powerful look seems inspired by Telluride, making its road presence look stronger than before. This new generation design gives Seltos more morden, sharp and muscular recognition.

Interior
The SUV’s interior is also expected to be quite premium. The cabin is reportedly inspired by larger Kia models like the Carnival and EV9. It could feature a Syros-like connected screen setup, with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 5-inch climate control screen, and a 12.3-inch infotainment unit integrated into a single panel.

Engine
The new Seltos will be offered with both petrol and diesel options at launch. Its existing engine options will be retained by the 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel. In addition, the company plans to launch its hybrid version in 2027, making this SUV even more ready for future needs.
