According to the latest update from the Department of Agriculture Development, the support price (Paddy MSP) has increased this year. This will bring relief to lakhs of farmers in the state. Paddy procurement will start at the new rate across the state from next Monday. This time, the government will buy paddy at double the price that farmers used to get earlier.

From now on, every farmer can sell at least 15 quintals of paddy, which was much less earlier. Along with this, the maximum limit has been fixed at 90 quintals. This decision will help both big and small farmers. Farmers can now sell paddy directly to the government and earn more money. This means farmers will get direct benefits without middlemen.

The government has also said that a Paddy Procurement Centre will run in every block of the state. So, farmers will not have to travel far. They can sell their paddy easily and earn a good profit.

A full online booking system has started for farmers. They can now book from home using their mobile by visiting the official government website. Farmers can register their names for paddy sales through the web portal from home.

In this digital system, farmers do not have to wait in long queues. The money will be deposited directly in their bank accounts. Farmers can sell paddy at the government price from home, and the payment will reach their bank within 24–48 hours.

Double money benefit

An official of the Agriculture Department said that farmers will get double the money under this new system. Many farmers are now selling online and do not need any middlemen. With one card, a farmer can sell a large amount of paddy, and even the paddy of their whole family. With subsidies and bonuses, farmers will earn almost double profit this time.

Increase in the support price

The state Agriculture and Food Department has fixed the new government purchase price of paddy at ₹2389 per quintal. Last year, the price was ₹2320. This means there is an increase of ₹69 per quintal. This is good news for small and marginal farmers, as their income will increase directly.
