Monsoon Update: Winter has begun to sweep across the country. Many states are experiencing chilly mornings and evenings. Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area has formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lankan coast. As a result, heavy rains are expected in many parts of Tamil Nadu on November 16th and 17th. Rainfall is expected to increase in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on November 17th.
Winter has already intensified in Uttar Pradesh. Delhi is experiencing severe cold with foggy mornings. A cold wave warning has been issued for several areas, including eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.

An alert has been issued for heavy rain on November 17th and 18th in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema. Rainfall is also expected in Lakshadweep on November 15th and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands between November 18th and 21st. Heavy rain is expected in some areas of Tamil Nadu on November 16th and 17th. Thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in these states from November 15th to 19th.
Cold Warning in Uttar Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, light fog may be visible in several districts on November 16th, including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Varanasi, Etawah, Kannauj, Ayodhya, Agra, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Maharajganj. While the day will be sunny, it will begin to get cold again as the evening approaches.
