PM Kisan 21st Installment: Major news for Indian Farmers. Farmers are eagerly awaiting their 21st installment. However, this time, there is a delay in receiving their PM Kisan installment. In some states, PM Kisan installments have already been released. Previously, it was believed that the government was holding back the installment announcement due to the Bihar Assembly elections. However, now that the results of the Bihar Assembly elections have been announced, it is expected that the 21st installment of PM Kisan will arrive soon.
PM Kisan installment is received 3 times a year
Installments under the PM Kisan Yojana are paid three times a year, or every four months. The government transfers ₹6,000 in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 to farmers’ bank accounts. The government released the 20th installment in August 2025, and farmers are now awaiting the 21st installment. However, many farmers may experience a delay in receiving their payments this time. There are several important reasons for this.
eKYC is mandatory
It is mandatory for all registered farmers of PM Kisan Yojana to get eKYC done.
Farmers can complete OTP based eKYC themselves on the PM Kisan portal.
Biometric eKYC is done at the nearest CSC centre.
If a farmer’s eKYC is not updated, his installment may be stopped.
What are the reasons for the delay in installment?
The Agriculture Department has detected several cases that do not fit the eligibility criteria of the scheme. Therefore, the amount has been temporarily stopped in these cases. Cases of farmers who have purchased or taken ownership of land after February 1, 2019, are being investigated.
Two or more people from the same family are receiving the installment, such as both husband and wife or the installment is coming in the name of an adult and a minor in the family. In such cases, the installment has been stopped until the physical verification is completed. Farmers are advised to check their eligibility status on the PM Kisan website, mobile app or Kisan eMitra chatbot.
