PM Kisan Update: Amidst rumors and misinformation circulating nationwide regarding the PM Kisan Yojana, the central government has taken a major step. To provide clarity to farmers confused by false news circulating on social media and other platforms, the government has issued a new notice on its official website. Through this notice, the central government has put an end to misconceptions and clarified that benefits under the scheme will now be provided only under strict rules.
Identification of ineligible beneficiaries completed
The government has stated that millions of farmers across the country have failed to follow the PM Kisan Yojana guidelines or have provided false information to avail of the benefits. The government has completed its investigation into these cases and identified several ineligible beneficiaries. These include those who purchased or inherited land after February 1, 2019, as well as families where more than one member, such as a husband, wife, or minor children, was taking advantage of the scheme. The government has clarified that this is a violation of the rules, and such individuals have been excluded from the scheme.

These farmers will receive relief
The government has also stated that the removal of farmers’ names from the list is temporary, not permanent. Physical verification will now be conducted for these farmers. If they are found eligible after verification, their names will be added to the beneficiary list. However, those found ineligible will not receive a second chance.
The government has issued important advice to farmers
The central government has urged farmers to immediately check their status. To determine whether their name remains on the list or has been removed, farmers can visit the PM Kisan website, https://pmkisan.gov.in, and find the “Know Your Status” section. An “Eligibility Status” section has been provided to verify eligibility. Farmers can also access this information through the mobile app or the “Kisan Mitra Chatbot.”
Names of 35 lakh farmers removed
The government recently removed the names of 3,544,213 farmers from the beneficiary list. These include farmers from states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Now, these farmers will have to prove their eligibility. They can reapply and submit the required documents. This process can be completed online or at the nearest Meeseva centers. It is estimated that approximately 5 million farmers may be disqualified in the future.

Government’s Decision on the 21st Installment
At present, the central government has not released the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Yojana nor has it announced an official date. It is believed that a decision on this may be made after the Bihar Assembly election results on November 14. According to media reports, if the NDA alliance wins the election, an annual payment of ₹9,000 may be announced for farmers, while otherwise the existing amount of ₹6,000 will continue.
What Farmers Should Do
The government has advised farmers to remain vigilant. Until the 21st installment is released, farmers should continue to check their accounts and status to avoid accidentally removing their names from the list. If a farmer’s name is removed, he can immediately reapply and prove his eligibility.
