Meghalaya cricketer Akash Kumar Choudhary has delivered a historic performance. During the Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh, Akash scored the fastest half-century in first-class cricket and Ranji Trophy history. Played at the Pithawala Stadium in Surat, Akash reached his fifty off just 11 balls. Thanks to Akash’s blistering innings, Meghalaya declared their first innings at 628/6.

Akash Kumar Chaudhary broke Wayne White’s previous record. White reached his fifty off 12 balls while playing for Leicestershire against Essex in 2012. Akash scored an unbeaten 50 off 14 balls, including eight towering sixes. During this period, Akash hit sixes off all six balls bowled by Limar Daby in the 126th over.
