Aadhaar-IRCTC Link: If you frequently travel by train and book tickets online through IRCTC, this news is very important for you. Recently, IRCTC, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, made some major changes to its ticket booking rules. Now, if your account isn’t linked to your Aadhaar card, you won’t be able to book tickets during the morning peak demand slots.

This new rule came into effect last month. Let’s learn more about it, and then we’ll tell you how to link your IRCTC account to your Aadhaar card using your mobile phone.

What is this new rule of Railways?

Last month, the Railways implemented a new rule that allows passengers with Aadhaar-verified IRCTC accounts to book tickets between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Passengers with unverified accounts will only be able to book tickets after 10:00 a.m.

This means that if you haven’t linked your IRCTC account to Aadhaar, getting a confirmed ticket may be difficult. The railways say this move will prevent ticket fraud by fake booking agents and bots. For these two hours, only verified users will be able to book train tickets and receive them easily.

How to link Aadhaar with IRCTC account?

For this, first go to www.irctc.co.in and log in to your account.

After this go to ‘My Profile’ section.

Here you will now see the option of ‘Authenticate Aadhaar’, click on it.

Now enter your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID.

After doing this, OTP will come on your registered mobile number, enter it and click on Submit.

Just after following these 5 steps, your IRCTC account will be verified with Aadhaar and you will be able to easily book tickets in every slot without any interruption.
