A five-match T20 series was played between India and Australia. The last and fifth match of this series was played today. However, the match could not be completed due to bad weather. Due to this, the match was canceled. As a result, the Indian team won the series 2-1. Indian opener Abhishek Sharma, who performed brilliantly in this series, was adjudged the Man of the Series. Abhishek has clearly spoken about how he prepared for this challenge and how this series gave him new confidence in his career.

He prepared mantally

Abhishek Sharma explained that he has prepared himself mentally and technically for conditions like the Australians. He said that it has always been a dream of mine to play against Australia’s bouncy pitches and fast bowlers. He said, “I was really looking forward to this series. When I came to know that we are going to Australia for the T20 Internationals, I was very excited. Throughout my career, I have seen that Australia is very batting-friendly and I wanted to prepare myself for such bowlers and conditions.”

Abhishek further explained that during practice, he prepares himself for world-class bowlers. He said that to become a good cricketer, one needs to face tough situations. Sharma added, “If you want to play good cricket and perform well for your team, you have to face world-class bowlers. I was practicing for such bowlers because that is how you improve as a player.”

Abhishek Sharma further said that this series has been a confidence booster for him and he has also resolved to prepare fully for the T20 World Cup to be held next year. Abhishek said, “If I get a chance to play in the World Cup, that dream will also come true. Since childhood, I have always dreamed of winning the World Cup for India. I will make sure that I am ready for that tournament as well.”
