Monsoon Update – While snowfall is occurring in the mountainous regions of North India, the cold has intensified in the lower plains as well. The increasing cold has left people shivering. Early morning rain in Jaipur brought down temperatures. Thunderstorms in several southern states brought pleasant weather late last night. Strong winds have caused trees to fall in some areas.
In the northeastern states, temperatures have dropped significantly due to scattered rains, and the cold has intensified. There seems to be no immediate relief from the rain here. Which states are likely to see rain?
According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance has become active on November 4th. It could affect many areas of the country. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in several districts of Maharashtra and has issued a yellow alert for this. A warning for heavy rain has been issued for Saurashtra-Kutch, Konkan, and Central Maharashtra.
Rainfall is also expected in many parts of Assam and Meghalaya. According to the IMD, rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is likely in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on November 4. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms is also expected in Rajasthan on November 3 and 4, Himachal Pradesh on November 4 and 5, and Uttarakhand on November 4.
Rainfall is expected in these areas as well.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted worsening weather in several states. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is expected in Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema between November 4 and 6. Inclement weather is also expected in coastal and northern interior Karnataka between November 5 and 7.
In addition, the winter season is also expected to increase in the Northwest, Western India, and Central India. Cold weather will increase in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Rainfall in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat may significantly intensify the cold.
