Monsoon Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a new low-pressure area is forming in the southeastern Bay of Bengal. Due to this, a rain alert has been issued for several areas of Odisha. According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted for southern peninsular India on October 23rd and 24th. According to the IMD, rainfall activity will continue in Odisha until October 27th. The IMD predicts that the low-pressure area has formed due to the formation of an upper-air cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Rain Warning in These States
According to the IMD, a rain alert has been issued for coastal Karnataka and Telangana from October 23rd to 25th. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in north interior Karnataka on October 24th. Additionally, a rain warning has been issued for coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema from October 24th to 28th. According to the IMD, thunderstorms and lightning are likely over south-peninsular India over the next five days.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is likely at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until October 27th. Lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next seven days. Lightning is also likely in Chhattisgarh.
In addition, light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana until October 26th.
