Reno India is now preparing to make a big bang in the Indian auto market once again. The company is going to launch its new 7-seater SUV Renault Boreal soon, which will be the extended version of the third-generation Duster. The car can hit Indian roads by mid 2026 and is expected to cost around Rs 15 lakh. Let’s know well about this upcoming SUV.

Design and Dimension

Talking about design and dimension, Renault Boreal’s look draws attention from its premium design at first sight. Its exterior is largely similar to the third-generation duster, but its length is kept slightly longer to provide better space in the third row. The global model has a length of 4.56 meters, width 2.08 meters, height 1.65 meters and wheelbase 2.70 meters. The length of the Indian version can be around 4.7 meters, which will provide more legroom and comfort.

In the front you will see the new Diamond logo, LED headlamps with DRL, and rugged bumper design with Renault’s signature grill. Side profiles include roof rails, wheel arch cladding, and 17 to 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the Y-shaped LED taillights and sporty roof spoiler make its rear look even more attractive.

Color options will include 6 shades such as Mercure Blue, Etoile Silver, Glacier White, Nacre Black, Cassiopee Gray and Feu Red. Overall, its design advances Duster’s ruggedness and adventure vibe.

Interior and features

Talking inside, Renault Boreal’s cabin feels both premium and high-tech. It offers 7-inch or 10-inch digital instrument clusters, flat-bottom multi-function steering wheels and ambient lighting with 48 color options. For the Comfort, it features panoramic sunroofs, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, powered tailgate, and the Harman/Kardon 10-speaker sound system.

Engine and performance

Talking about engine and performance, the Renault boreal will use the same engine as the 5-seater duster. In India it will be launched with a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 151 bhp power and 250 Nm torque.6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic (EDC) transmission options will be found with the engine. In addition, the company can also bring its 1.2-liter mild hybrid version.

Reno is also working on its Strong Hybrid technology, which will include a 1.6-liter petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery pack. This powertrain will give a combined output of around 140 bhp and is expected to come about a year after launch.

Price and Variants

Talking about the price, Renault Boreal’s X-showroom price is expected to be between 16 lakh and 26 lakh rupees. This SUV can be launched in three trims such as Evolution, Techno and Iconic. The company’s focus is on the middle-class family, so its variants are designed according to Value for Money.
