Mini Fortuner: Toyota is poised to make another splash in the SUV segment. The company is preparing to launch its most popular small off-road SUV—the Toyota FJ Cruiser, affectionately known as the Mini Fortuner. Design Patent
Let me tell you that in the new design patent, the boxy and rough-tuff look of this SUV is clearly visible. The variant shown in the patent seems to be a base model, with a design with short wheels, no roof rack, and no fog lamps.
The rectangular grille in its front, inverted “C” shaped headlamp housing and large black cladding bumper give it a very muscular look. The rear side also features thick C and D-pillars with black cladding, giving it a tuff off-roader style. Although the patent does not show tailgate, it is expected that full-size spare wheel will be given — just as seen in the old FJ Cruiser.

Engine
Talking about the engine, the company has not yet confirmed its engine options, but according to auto reports, it can see three powerful engine options. The first, 2.0L petrol engine, which can be derived from Hilux Champ. Second, the 2.8L diesel engine, which is already available in Fortuner. And third, the 2.7L petrol engine, which can be delivered in a select few variants.
Launch
The Toyota FJ Cruiser is expected to make its global debut later this year or early next year, with the SUV expected to be available for sale in international markets by 2026.

Expectations of its arrival in India have also increased, although the company has not yet made any official statement on it. If it launches in India, it will directly hit off-road SUVs like Mahindra Thar, Maruti Jimny and Force Gurkha.
