Tata Sierra Petrol
Two different engine options can be found in the petrol variant of Tata Sierra. base variants are expected to contain 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine. It would be better for buyers who prefer fuel efficiency and affordability. At the same time, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine can be given in top varieties, which will be perfect for those who like more performance.

Turbo petrol engine is expected to yield around 170 PS power and 280 Nm torque. With this both manual and automatic transmission options will exist. While NA petrol’s exact output has not been reveled, it is expected to power up to about 120 PS. The special thing is that both petrol engines will be E20 compliant, ie ready for future fuel standards.
Variants
In addition to Petrol, Tata Sierra will also have diesel engine option. The same 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine can be applied to it, which is already being found in Harrier and Safari. It produces engine 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque, and has both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

There is also good news for EV enthusiasts. Tata Sierra will also launch EV variant, which will be based on the portrain borrowed from Harrier EV. It will have options for 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. Also both RWD and AWD will be choices. Like Harrier EV, it can also be given advanced terrain modes such as Mud Ruts, Rock Crawl, Sand and Snow, giving it great performance even on SUV off-road.
Competition
Talking about Compact SUV segment, Hyundai Creta is the best selling model right now. Creta has three engine options – 1.5-litre NA petrol (115 PS), 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160 PS) and 1.5-litre diesel (116 PS).

In addition, Tata Sierra will also receive competition from the recently launched Maruti Victoria. Victoris smart hybrid and strong hybrid both come with options. It has a 1.5-litre smart hybrid petrol that performs 103 PS / 139 Nm generate, and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol with computation of petrol engine and electric motor.
