New Delhi: The weather in Uttar Pradesh has once again changed, bringing clouds to many places. Furthermore, the cloudy skies were accompanied by rain yesterday. The weather is expected to remain inclement for the next five days, leading to rain and strong winds.
The International Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour in various parts of the state. Rain in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh yesterday brought down temperatures, bringing some relief from the scorching heat. Eastern Uttar Pradesh also experienced some relief from the blazing sun. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in several areas of Uttar Pradesh. Find out what the weather will be like for each area below.
Rain alert in several districts of the state
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several districts of Uttar Pradesh on October 1st. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, and Fatehpur. Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Siddharth Nagar are also likely to experience heavy rain. Heavy rain is also expected in Gonda and Balrampur, with lightning and thunderstorms also expected.
Rainfall accompanied by wind is also possible here.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, and Farrukhabad. Rain is also expected in Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, and Lucknow. Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Methi, and Ayodhya will also experience heavy rain.
Rainfall accompanied by strong winds is also likely in Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and Jalaun. A rain alert has been issued for Hamirpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, and Fatehpur. The IMD has predicted rain in Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Siddharth Nagar. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 35 to 40 kilometres per hour.
How much rain fell where?
Eastern Uttar Pradesh recorded 666 mm of rainfall. This is 17 per cent less than the long-term average of 799.2 mm. According to a report, the overall monsoon rainfall in the state was 701.6 mm, which falls within the normal category. Rainfall was much less than normal in three districts of the state. 27 districts saw below-normal rainfall, 13 districts saw above-normal rainfall, and two districts saw much above-normal rainfall.
