You may be surprised to hear this, but believe me, its taste is so amazing that after eating it once, you will want to make it again and again. And the best part? It is also very healthy, because papaya is rich in fibre and vitamins.

So, without delay, let’s know the method of making this unique and delicious dish.

What is needed to make papaya halwa?

1 ripe papaya

1/2 litre of milk

2 tablespoons ghee

1/2 cup sugar or jaggery (according to your taste)

1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

1 tablespoon chopped nuts (like almonds, cashews, pistachios)

How to make papaya halwa?

First, wash and peel the papaya thoroughly, then cut it into small pieces.

Now, heat the ghee in a pan. When the ghee has melted, add the papaya pieces and fry on a low flame for 5 minutes. This will remove the rawness of papaya.

After this, add milk to it and reduce the flame to medium. Cook the milk and papaya until the milk has completely dried up. You have to be a little patient in this step.

When the milk dries up, add sugar or jaggery and cook it till it dissolves completely and the halwa thickens.

Finally, add cardamom powder and chopped nuts and mix well.

Just cook for two more minutes and turn off the gas.

There you go, your delicious and healthy papaya halwa is ready! Serve it hot and surprise everyone.
