Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched a unique scheme for women, named LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana. The main objective of this scheme is to make women financially capable and provide them with employment opportunities. The special thing is that under this scheme, women will be given a fixed income every month in the beginning, and for this, they do not need to make any investment.

What is LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana?

This scheme of LIC has been started to promote women’s empowerment and to deliver insurance services to remote areas. Under this scheme, women will get a chance to become LIC agents. After becoming an agent, they will also be given training so that they can better understand the services related to insurance and give correct information to the customers.
How much monthly income will be available?
In this scheme, the female agent will be given a monthly income for the first three years on the basis of performance. In the first year, they will definitely be given Rs 7000 per month. Women will get Rs 6000 every month in the second year as well, but the condition for this will be that at least 65 percent of the policies opened in the first year should remain active. The amount for the third year will be based on their work and performance.
Documents required to apply
To avail the benefits of this scheme, women will have to submit some important documents. These will include an age certificate, an address certificate, and documents related to educational qualifications. Self-attested copies of all documents will have to be submitted. Apart from this, it is also mandatory to attach a passport-sized photo with the application form.
Who cannot apply

Women who are already agents or employees of LIC cannot apply for this scheme. Also, their husband, wife, children, parents, siblings, and in-laws will not be eligible for this scheme. Retired corporation employees and former agents also cannot join this scheme.
Application process and eligibility
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the minimum age of the woman should be 18 years, and the maximum age should be 70 years. Educational qualification must be at least 10th pass. Interested women can apply by visiting the nearest LIC office or through the official website of LIC.
