New Delhi: Indian cinema has suffered another big blow today. B Saroja Deva, one of the biggest personalities of cinema, has passed away at the age of 87. She has won the hearts of people by playing characters in more than 200 films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.

She started her film career at the age of 17, when she worked in the Kannada classic film Kalidas. There came a time when she became very famous.

After becoming famous with names like “Abhinaya Saraswati” and “Kannadathu Pengili”, she was a big name in South Indian cinema. Her fame deepened with the 1958 film Nadodi Mannan, in which she acted with M.G. Ramachandran.
