New Delhi: The situation in Pakistan’s Balochistan province remains volatile. Various claims are being made by Baloch fighters. Meanwhile, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has made a shocking claim, attempting to disrupt Pakistan’s peace. According to the BLA, Operation Heroof 2.0 has been completed.

This operation, which began on January 31, continued until the evening of February 6. During this time, the Baloch Liberation Army claimed to have targeted 14 cities in Balochistan. The Baloch claimed it was the largest, most intense, and most organised military operation in their history.

Claim of killing 362 Pakistani security personnel

The Baloch Liberation Army claimed that more than 362 members of the Pakistani security forces were killed during the operation. This included members of the Pakistani Army, Frontier Corps, police, and state-backed armed groups. According to the BLA’s post, the state’s deadly weapon is Shafiq Mengal.

A statement issued by the BLA spokesperson stated that the fighters launched simultaneous attacks and seized control of security checkpoints, military bases, and parts of urban areas in several locations.

The spokesperson further claimed that BLA units maintained their positions in several cities for six consecutive days, forcing the Pakistani army to retreat. According to the Baloch, this resulted in political, psychological, and military losses for the state.

How many fighters lost their lives?

According to the BLA spokesperson, a total of 93 Baloch fighters have lost their lives in the operation so far. According to the BLA, this includes 50 members of the Majeed Brigade, 26 from the Fateh Squad, and 17 members of the Special Tactical Operations Squad. They stated that all major units of the organisation participated in this operation, including the Zirab Intelligence Branch and the Haqkal Media Branch.

It’s worth noting that the Balochistan province of Pakistan has been experiencing a period of instability for quite some time. Rebels have launched an offensive against the government to press their demands.
