WPL 2025: The league stage of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 has come to an end. Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Nat Sciver Brunt scored a brilliant half-century against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the last league match. MI had a target of 200 runs. At the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Brunt scored 69 runs in 35 balls, which included 9 fours and 2 sixes. This is her fifth half-century in the WPL. However, despite Brunt’s half-century, MI lost by 11 runs but her ‘current’ shook the record books. The England player has created a new history.

Ellyse Perry’s record broken

In fact, Brunt has become the first player to score 400 runs in a season of WPL. She has scored 416 runs in 8 matches in the current season at an average of 69.33. She has broken the record of RCB all-rounder Alice Perry. Perry scored 347 runs in WPL 2024. At the same time, Perry scored 372 runs in WPL 2025 but RCB could not reach the playoffs. Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Meg Lanning scored 345 runs in WPL 2023. Brunt scored 332 runs that year.

Made it to the finals

Mumbai missed out on direct entry into the finals due to defeat in the last league match. Delhi has made it directly to the finals. Delhi remained on top with 10 points. Mumbai also have 10 points but Delhi won with a better net run rate of 0.396. Delhi will play the title match on March 15 while the eliminator match will be played between Mumbai and Gujarat Giants (GT) on March 13. The team that wins the eliminator will face Delhi in the final. RCB defeated Mumbai and finished their campaign at fourth place in the five-team table. RCB won the trophy last season.
