Weather Update: The weather patterns in the country seem to be changing very rapidly. Some states are feeling cool due to rain, storms, and snowfall, while on the other hand, in some parts of the country, strong sunlight is making people sweat.
According to the Meteorological Department, today, i.e., April 22, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. Apart from this, an alert has been issued in view of the heatwave in Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

Bihar Weather: Alert Heatwave
The north-westerly wind continues to flow in many districts of Bihar from noon to 5 p.m. Partially cloudy skies were seen in Patna and surrounding areas only after the wind speed reduced after five days.
On Monday, an alert was issued regarding a heat wave in Banka, Sheikhpura, Bhagalpur, Madhubani, Jamui, Supaul, Darbhanga, and East Champaran districts. The weather is going to be very hot in the southern and north-western areas, including Patna.
Delhi Weather: Rainfall Alert
The weather is once again taking a turn in the capital, Delhi. Early-morning rain has been recorded in many areas here. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may be seen in Delhi on April 22.
According to IMD, light rain may be recorded in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram from the 22nd to the 24th.
Along with rain, there is a possibility of snowfall at these places, along with thunder, lightning, and strong winds (30–40 km per hour). Scattered rainfall may be seen over Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during April 25–27, 2024.
According to the Meteorological Department, from April 22 to April 24, 2024, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may see rain with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Similar weather conditions are likely to occur in Gangetic West Bengal.
Due to a cyclonic disturbance, scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on April 22.
Light to moderate rainfall or snowfall with thunder and lightning is expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 22 and 23. Scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) is likely over East Rajasthan on April 22.
