Citroen Basalt Launch Time: The French automaker’s mid-size coupe SUV, the Citroen Basalt, is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2024. It will be the fourth model under Citroen’s C-Cubed program in India, and will compete with the upcoming Tata Safari. The Curve, which is also expected to launch in mid-2024. Citroen’s Tiruvallur facility in Tamil Nadu will serve as the production hub for this coupe SUV for both the domestic market and South America. The company has also confirmed an electric model of the Basalt, which is expected to arrive in early 2025
Citroen basalt design
Following the pattern of other C-Cubed products, the Citroën Basalt will use modular CMP architecture. The coupe SUV shares some body panels and design elements with the C3 Aircross, including LED daytime running lights and the bonnet. However, it features a distinct two-part grille in body colour, projector headlamps with smoked-out effect, clean shoulder creases, a sloping roofline, square wheel arches with gloss finish and uniquely designed alloy wheels. Wheels will be available.
The rear profile of the Basalt includes a notchback-like design, a small rear windscreen, larger and redesigned LED taillamps and a uniquely designed rear bumper with dual-tone black and silver finish. Unlike the concept model, which had gunmetal finished alloys, the production-ready version could get conventional alloy wheels. The pull-type door handle of the coupe SUV concept has been retained.

Interior details of the Citroen Basalt have not been revealed yet, but it is likely to have a C3 Aircross-like dashboard. Talking about the features, this coupe SUV can come with wireless charging, electrically foldable mirrors, cruise control, climate control, keyless entry, push-button start and many other features.
Citroen Basalt Powertrain
The new Basalt is likely to get a 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine which will generate power of 110 bhp. This engine will be available in both manual and automatic torque converter gearbox options.
