India vs South Africa second test is being played in Guwahati. During this match, the umpires have warned Indian captain Rishabh Pant twice. If Pant makes a mistake again, the Indian team can be fined. This warning is for wasting too much time between overs.
Second warning for Rishabh Pant
This second warning to Rishabh Pant was given by umpire Richard Kettleborough before the start of the 88th over. Pant had taken more time than required to set the fielding between the overs of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, due to which he has been given this warning for the second time in this innings. If Pant is found wasting time again, the Indian team can be fined 5 runs.
South Africa will be benefited
Speaking of the match, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bat first. This first Test match is being played at the Guwahati ground. Rishabh Pant is captaining the team due to Shubman Gill’s injury.
Pant is the 28th wicketkeeper-captain of the Indian Test team and the second wicketkeeper-captain. Dhoni was the first Indian full-time wicketkeeper-captain. On the first day of the match, South Africa posted 247 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. The top four of Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Temba Bavuma all got good starts. All batsmen crossed the 30-run mark, but none managed to reach a half-century.
This is a do or die match for team India in Guwahati at the Barsapara Stadium as they lose the previous match against South Africa. To make the 2-match Test series 1-1, India have no option but to win the match. They are playing the match without their regular captain Shubman Gill. He is not playing the match because of the neck injury he got in the first innings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
