Ravichandran Ashwin defended Abhishek Sharma after Mohammed Amir labelled him slogger

Is Abhishek Sharma a slugger? Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir called him a slugger after seeing the Indian opener’s batting style. Abhishek scored a fifty against Zimbabwe. After that, former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin responded to Amir.

On his YouTube channel, Ashwin said, “I saw a video of Mohammad Amir where he called Abhishek Sharma a slugger. I want to make it clear that you can say whatever you want about Abhishek’s game, but Abhishek is not a slugger. His bat swing is extraordinary. We all know that Abhishek’s mentor is Yuvraj Singh.”

Ashwin also said, “His bat swing is better than Yuvraj’s. A better bat swing is not possible. Whenever Abhishek plays a shot, it flies far. Many may mistake Abhishek for a slugger. Abhishek shows an aggressive attitude with every ball, it can go against him.”

Abhishek’s answer, “I did not bat slowly deliberately. After playing a few balls, I was trying to spend as much time as possible on the pitch.
