Dhoni shines with the bat after promotion in the batting order
The match against Punjab Kings was also memorable for MS Dhoni as a batsman. After receiving criticism for batting too low in the order, he came in to bat at number 5. He played a quick-fire inning, scoring 27 runs in 12 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes. His strike rate was 225.
However, despite his efforts, CSK could not win the match. Till now in the season, Dhoni was batting at number 7, 8 or 9, but this time he showed his form with a higher batting position.
