Board of Control for Cricket in India has made a significant decision. The BCCI has postponed the Indian women’s team’s next series. As a result, Indian fans will now have to wait for the world champion team to return to the field. Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see Harmanpreet Kaur again in action soon.

BCCI sent a letter in the matter

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also sent a letter to the visiting team informing them of this decision. Indian women’s cricket has seen a major change, with the Bangladesh women’s team’s tour of India in December being postponed. The series, which was scheduled to include three ODIs and three T20Is, has been postponed.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed that they received a letter from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stating that the tour has been postponed to a later date. This T20 series between the two teams was supposed to be India’s last T20I series before the Women’s Premier League 2026.

The ODI series was also supposed to mark the start of the new Women’s ODI Championship cycle between India and Bangladesh. However, it is believed that this decision was made due to the political turmoil in Bangladesh. However, it is not yet clear what caused the postponement. Earlier, the BCCI had also postponed the Indian men’s team’s tour of Bangladesh.

Three ODIs and three T20Is were scheduled to be played between the two teams in August 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made this decision by mutual consent. The tour has been postponed for a full year and will now remain postponed until September 2026.
