The IPL mini-auction is taking place today in Abu Dhabi. Just a night before the 2026 tournament, something unexpected has happened. Originally, a total of 350 players were selected for the IPL 2026 auction, but now that number has increased to 369, meaning that the number of players has increased by 19.
Massive change just before the IPL 2026 auction
Now, you might be wondering how 19 players suddenly appeared before the IPL 2026 mini auction. Let me tell you that these 19 players were added to the list later. Their names were recommended by the franchises. Now, these players will also participate actively in the bidding. The most surprising name among them is that of Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran.
In addition to Easwaran, New Zealand fast bowler Ben Sears and South Africa’s Ethan Bosch also got a place in the auction list. Ethan, the brother of South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, has played one ODI for South Africa, while Ben Sears has played one Test and four ODIs for the Black Caps so far.
Malaysia’s Virandeep Singh and Australia’s Chris Green have been included, along with South Africa’s Kyle Verreynne and Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani. All these players will now be part of the auction in Abu Dhabi, where they could be a huge draw.
