The 28-year-old bowler from Bihar not only took a hat-trick in the final against Manipur but also took 4 wickets for just one run. Shabbir Khan shattered the morale of Manipur with his fiery bowling in his first spell of 5 overs.

In the final match of the Plate Group of the Vijay Hazare Trophy being played in Ranchi, Manipur batted first. However, the openers had only added five runs to the scoreboard when Shabbir Khan struck first. He clean bowled Manipur opener Karnajit on the fourth ball of his first over.

However, the true extent of Shabbir Khan’s havoc with the ball came in the fifth over of Manipur’s innings. From the second ball of the over, he became a nightmare for the Manipur batsmen. As a result, he claimed a hat-trick and took four wickets in that over. Shabbir Khan completed his hat-trick by taking three wickets in succession on the second, third, and fourth balls of the fifth over of Manipur’s innings.

After taking a hat-trick, Shabbir Khan dismissed Priyojit on the last ball, his fourth wicket of the over and his fifth overall. Manipur lost all four wickets for just one run. All four wickets fell with the score at 19. Shabbir then came in his next over and dismissed Jameson, his sixth wicket. He finished with figures of 6/17 in his five overs, including one maiden over.
