Renault Triber Turbo 100PS Launched: Renault has updated the Triber in India with a new turbo-petrol engine. The new Renault Triber 100PS Turbo has been launched with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹7.84 lakh. It features several mechanical upgrades, delivering more power and torque than the previous version. The new car is powered by a 1.0-litre TCe 100 turbo-petrol engine that produces 100 PS of power and 180 Nm of torque. Let’s take a look at what has changed in the new Triber Turbo.
Renault Triber Turbo: Price and Variants
The new Triber Turbo is offered in three variants: Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. Its starting ex-showroom price is ₹7,84,900, while the top-end Emotion Turbo variant is priced at ₹8,99,900 (ex-showroom). Currently, the turbo engine is available with a manual gearbox.
Additionally, the existing Triber lineup continues to offer the ‘Energy’ petrol engine across the Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion variants. Prices for the Energy version start at ₹580,875, while the Emotion AMT variant goes up to ₹852,950.
100 PS Turbo Engine
The most significant update to the new Renault Triber is its 1.0-litre TCe 100 turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates 100 PS of power and 180 Nm of torque. According to Renault, the 180 Nm torque figure is the highest in this segment.
Renault has also introduced its new R-EMS (Engine Management System) alongside this engine. This system optimises both engine response and fuel efficiency. The company claims that, despite the turbo engine, the Triber will deliver a fuel efficiency of 21 kmpl. RGEP Platform
Renault has introduced the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP architecture) in India for the first time. Along with these changes, the suspension geometry has been modified, and anti-roll bars have been added to both the front and rear.
Additionally, MTV damper technology has been employed. The braking calibration and vehicle dynamics have also been tuned to suit the new turbo engine.
Modular Cabin and 625-Litre Boot Space
One of the Triber’s standout features is its modular cabin, which is also available in the turbo version. The car offers seating options for five, six, or seven people. It features a sliding and reclining second row, third-row seats, and one-touch tumble access.
In the five-seater configuration, the boot space extends up to 625 litres. Furthermore, the car offers 23 litres of interior storage space and has a ground clearance of 182 mm.
Features and Safety
The three variants of the Triber Turbo come with various modern features. These include an 8-inch floating touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital LED instrument cluster, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, and wireless charging.
Other features include rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, push-button start, and a smart access card. Independent rear AC vents are provided for passengers in the second and third rows. The lighting setup comprises LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED tail lamps.
In terms of safety, the Triber 100PS range comes standard with six airbags and 21 safety features. The Triber 100PS range also includes front parking sensors, a rear-view camera with guidelines, and a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). According to Renault, the company has sold over 2.5 lakh Tribers in India to date.
