
PM Awas Yojana 2.0: Everyone dreams of having their house. To realise this dream, the Central Government is operating the PM Awas Scheme for the people. Many people got houses under the first version of this scheme. Now, in the second version, PM Awas Yojana 2.0, a new update has been introduced for urban people who dream of owning a house.
According to the government report, now it is not necessary to wait for a new date to register for this scheme, as the PMAY-U 2.0 scheme has been implemented from September 1, 2024. According to the July 2026 report of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Cards, eligible people can apply directly through its unified web portal.
Target of 1 crore houses in the coming 5 years
Let us tell you that the aim of the Central Government is to help more than 1 crore urban families to build or buy affordable houses in the coming 5 years through PMAY-U 2.0. This means that in the coming 5 years, the government will help 1 crore families to buy or build houses.
This will bring stability to their life. This scheme is being run through four categories. This includes Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), and Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS). Financial assistance up to 2.5 lakh units will be provided in BHC and AHP categories.
Know who can apply.
Eligible families living in the city can apply for the PM Awas Scheme. Under the interest subsidy scheme, the annual income of EWS should be up to Rs 3 lakh, the annual income of LIG should be Rs 6 lakh and the annual income of MIG should be Rs 9 lakh. These people can apply easily. Until now, more than 16.20 lakh houses have been approved under this scheme. Final verification of eligibility is done through the urban local body and the state government.
How to apply using your mobile while sitting at home.
For this process, first you have to visit the official unified web portal of PMAY-U 2.0.
After the visit, select the option of ‘Apply for PMAY-U 2.0’ on the home page.
After this step you have to check your eligibility and complete the process of Aadhaar-based approval.
You need to enter personal details, family information, the income certificate, and all the information related to the house.
All the forms have to be filled correctly and submitted.
After completing these steps, take a print out of the application letter for status tracking and keep it safe.
