Recruitment Responsible for UPPRPB
The state government has entrusted the entire responsibility of this recruitment to the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). A government order and recruitment guidelines have been issued. The recruitment process will be completely transparent and district-wise – meaning candidates will be able to apply only for their district.
Who Can Apply (Eligibility Criteria)
To apply for the Home Guard position, a candidate must have passed the 10th grade from a recognised board. Candidates must have their 10th-grade marksheet and certificate at the time of application.
Additional Points:
NCC or Bharat Scouts and Guides certificate holders will receive a bonus of 1 to 3 points.
Aapda Mitra Training Certificate holders will receive 3 additional points.
Those holding a four-wheeler driving license will receive an additional benefit of 1 point.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
Age will be calculated as of July 1st of the recruitment year.
Candidates from reserved categories—OBC, SC, ST—will receive age relaxation as per government rules. This relaxation will apply only to native residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Such people will not be able to apply
Candidates with pending criminal cases will not be eligible.
- Men with more than one wife or women with more than one husband will also not be eligible.
- People employed in government or semi-government services will not be eligible to apply.
- Employees suspended or removed from a corporation will also not be eligible.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be completed in several stages:
Written Examination – Objective test of 100 marks, duration 2 hours.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
Final selection of candidates who complete all stages will be based on a merit list.
Physical Standards
The minimum height for male candidates is 168 cm, the minimum weight is 40 kg, and the running time is 4.8 km (in 28 minutes). For female candidates, the minimum height is 152 cm, and the running time is 2.4 km (in 16 minutes).
